The Capitol Classic is a showcase for the very best in Topeka area cycling. The Capitol Classic has always been known for its great SAG food with fresh fruit and snacks. The Capitol Classic starts and finishes at Lake Shawnee’s Tinman Circle in Topeka.

The Capitol Classic offers four ride lengths: a Family Fun Ride of 16 miles, 25 miles, 62 miles (Metric Century), and 100 miles. All three of the longer routes will pass by the Topeka landmarks of Lake Shawnee, Forbes Field and Heartland Park Speedway, and the two longest routes will include the Topeka cycling fixture known as “Puke Hill”.

The Capitol Classic is hosted and organized by the Kaw Valley Bicycle Club (KVBC). The ride follows paved secondary roads and county highways, and includes SAG stops, minor repair service and sweep vehicles. Transportation back to the origin will only be provided in the event of illness or accident.
