Pizzza Ride Starts Tonight! (June 9th)

Pizzza RideUPDATE: Note about Tonight’s June 9th Pizza Ride. Rain or Shine, lighting is a no go. If we can’t ride we can still eat pizza! Come meet Kyle Rainey and hear his blow by blow account of placing 3rd at Cry Baby hill at Tulsa Tough! Stage 6pm, roll 6:30pm.

What: Ride Bike, Eat Pizzza, Change World!

Who: Any youth bicyclists of any ability. Age 6 and up.

When: Monday June 9th, Stage at 6pm, Ride begins 6:30pm

This event happens about twice a month June to August.

Where: Meet at the original Johnny’s Tavern in Lawrence in North Lawrence. Park in the parking lot to the West.

Why: Why not! You might be into bikes as transportation, a sport, a way of life, better living, or anything you care about. Will ride together, eat together, and of course change the world one pedal stroke at a time.

FREE Pizzza for kids 18 and under, Adults $5 donation requested.

Course: We’ll ride out on top of the Kansas River Levee which is smooth crushed gravel. Any type of bike is fine. It’s 10 miles round trip, but we’ll have ride guides for anyone who wants to go 1, 3 or 5 miles. Just have fun and pedal at your own pace.

Requirements: Parents must sign waiver for kids under 18, gotta have a helmet because you don’t want to learn your ABC’s twice. Bike needs air in tires. We have some loaner bikes, but must contact in advance.

This is a live action, organic event that is kid driven. Stay tuned for future dates, twitter page, etc… Thanks Anderson Rentals, Inc.Team 360 and Team GP VeloTek.

The Family Fun Zone will be open from noon to 2 p.m. and will include family-friendly inflatables, a face painter, Big Jay and Baby Jay, and music.
